Mortem Vetus - Dead Meat

Thank you for purchasing Dead Meat for Michael4 and Victoria4. We hope you enjoy using this product, and this User Guide is intended to just help you get the most out of your purchase. Mostly, this guide will be covering the basic operation of the items included in the pack.

This pack is intended for use with Poser8 and above, although it will work with Poser6 and newer.

For the purposes of this guide, we'll be using PoserPro 2014, but there is nothing we'll be doing that can't be done in Poser 6 and above.  And initially, pretty much everything is in default, except Render settings. Once you've installed the product, your new Dead Meat items will be in: Figures:MortemVetus:DeadMeat:
Props:MortemVetus:DeadMeat:
Pose:MortemVetus:DeadMeat:

The first thing we need to do is load a Michael4. We find it's useful to turn IK off at this point as we've had it give some peculiar results when using clothing items and library poses. We're going to leave our Michael in his default loading pose, and we're going to dress him, morph him and skin him. So with our Michael loaded, load one of his clothing items and conform it to Michael, as shown below. Repeat this operation for the other two clothing items, and we can then move on to zombiefying him.

NOTE: While we're using Michael4 for this guide, everything that we do is equally relevant to the Victoria4 items in this pack.

Image 1: Conforming Michael's Trousers

Now that our Michael is dressed, we can start making him into a proper zombie. If we go into Pose > MortemVetus > DeadMeat, we find that we have three subfolders for each of Michael and Vicky, and one labeled '!Utility'. Let's start by going into M4_Skin. Making sure we have Michael selected, apply "+M4_BASE_ALL". Once this is loaded, we have a basis which we can now change up here and there, so all our zombies in a scene can be individual.

In the 'M4_Skin' folder we can see there are a number of options. The Eyes options change the eys only, and are designed to compliment the assorted heads. The Full Zombie options change everything, and can be further customised by using Eyes and Head options.

The Head options give us a range of heads we can apply to Michael. Please note that Heads 'M' and 'N' will require you to change the body texture, to Torso_B, for consistency. Torso_B has been peeled a little down the nexk to blend in with heads M and N.

The Teeth options allow us to choose between bloody and not-bloody teeth as well as enabling us to turn the teeth off if required.

The Torso options are dependent on which head has been applied. Torso_B should be used for Heads M and N, while Torso_A and Torso_C should be used for all other heads.

There is also a fully peeled option, and this applies to the whole figure.

If we now go to the M4_Morphs folder, we can see we have a number of options here. M4_Torso_Inj, gives Michael a classic emaciated zombie type body, while the head injects are designed to give him a variety of zombie looks. So we'll apply the M4_Torso_Inj pz2, and we're also going to apply '02_M4_INJ' to change his head up. In image 3 below, we can see the changes after applying these morphs.

Next, we're going to change his clothing appearance. To do this we have to go into the last of the three folders for Michael, "M4_Clothing".

In here, we have multple options for each clothing item. Make sure the item ou want to change is selected, then apply the appropriate MAT poses.

To further change the clothing appearance, we can apply some morphs on the clothing. As well as the usual FBM's we've also included a DeadMeat morph on each clothing item. A value of 1.000 on this dial fits each clothing item to the DeadMeat morph. Both Michael and Victoria have the DeadMeat body INJ, and the clothing items dial 'FBM-DeadMeat' have been fitted to each of them.

NOTE: M4_Shoes only has FBM-Bulk, as the other FBM's don't affect the feet.

By mixing and matching textures and morphs, a huge range of different appearances is easily achievable.

We've included a fun little extra for Michael, the Half Torso. Again, this is a conforming figure, and replaces Michael's lower torso, as if he has been ripped in half. To use this figure, we need to have a Michael loaded with the zombie default base on. With Michael selected, apply the Utility pose, 'Hide Lower Body'.pz2. This turns off Michaels legs, feet, hip and abdomen. Now load and conform the figure 'M4_Torso'.cr2 and we now have half a Michael zombie.

Now as a general rule, this dude will be dragging himself along the floor, so some good face down crawling poses are essential here. For this we'll be using poses from the Grave Expectations pack, by us and IslandGirl.

NOTE: Because Michael has no hips with the half torso, he would have very little movement in his abdomen and chest, as those movements are all derived from the hip. Because of this we've not rigged the Torso to be capable of extreme posing. Most of the movement this guy could manage would all be derived from his arms.

Image 5: chopping Michael in half

In image6 below, we've applied IGD_Biter04b and Michael has dropped to the ground, crawling along. To complete the effect, we've also included a blood smear prop. However, please be aware that this prop will only work on a flat floor, and depending on the floor you're using, it may need raising or lowering to suit.

NOTE: The entrails and spine are poseable. Useful if you have him crawling over something, so they don't just stick out straight.

And lastly, we've also included texture templates for all the clothing items. These are all clearly labelled and easy to use. The templates can be found in :Runtime:textures:MorV:Templates:DeadMeat:

Why not have a go at putting your favourite band on the t-shirts, or even a piece of your own art?

We hope you enjoy using this product and we look forward to seeing what images you make with it.

Happy Rendering
