Mortem Vetus: Ride The
Lightning Thank you for purchasing Ride The Lightning. We hope you enjoy using this product, and this User Guide is intended to just help you get the most out of your purchase. Mostly, this guide will be covering the basic operation of the items included in the pack. This pack is intended for use with Poser8 or newer, within the TerraDome2 environment. For the purposes of this guide, we'll be using PoserPro 2014, but there is nothing we'll be doing that can't be done in Poser 8 and above. And initially, pretty much everything is in default, except Render settings. Once you've installed the product, your new Ride The Lightning items will be in: :Runtime:librariesProps:TerraDome2:Lightning :Runtime:libraries:Materials:! TerraDome2:Add-ons:RideTheLightning This pack is an add-on for TerraDome2, and while, technically, it will work without TerraDome2, results will be far less favourable. So to begin with, we want to load TerraDome2, and the TerraDome2 Sun. Before we start on the Lightning, we'll morph a bit of shape into our TerraDome2, to make everything a bit more interesting, so we're starting with the scene below in image1. |

Ok, so now we want to add
our lightning. Go to Props:TerraDome2:Lightning: and load
the Lightning prop. This will load as shown in image2
below. |

The lightning prop is not
parented to any part of TerraDome2, so will remain static
when rotating body parts on TerraDome2. As a loose prop,
it can be positioned and scaled to suit. In Materials:! TerraDome2:Add-ons:Lightning, there are 20 material presets for different lightning strikes. Try the different strikes to see what they all look like. For a very stormy look, load multiple Lightning props, and apply different materials to each. Position and scale them around your scene to get the look you want. In image 3 below, we've added a second Lightning prop, and applied a different material. We've also played with the positioning a little. |

That's all very well, but as everyone
knows, Lightning looks way cooler the darker it is. Select
the Sun light and on the Parameters tab, adjust the
Intensity to darken the sun. As we can see in image 4
below, 40% intensity was fine for our image. We've added
the Cloudy Haze atmosphere setting that's included in the
TerraDome2 Base Pack, and rendered it up. |

We hope you enjoy using this product and
we look forward to seeing what images you make with it. Happy Rendering Andrew and Tracey :) |
