Deam Arborum

Thank you for purchasing Deam Arborum. We hope you enjoy this product, and appreciate any feedback you may have.

This pack is intended for use with Poser8 and newer, though we would recommend Poser9 and newer for best results.

For the purposes of this guide, we'll be using PoserPro 2014, but there is nothing we'll be doing that can't be done in Poser 8 and above.  And initially, pretty much everything is in default, except Render settings.

O
nce you've installed the product, your new Deam Arborum items will be in:
Runtime:Libraries:Pose:! TerraDome2:Speciality:DeamArborum

Runtime:Libraries:Props:TerraDome2:DeamArborum
Runtime:Libraries:Camera:TerraDome2:DeamArborum

So to begin with, we want to load TerraDome2. We also want to make some adjustments to our Main Camera, as detailed in the TerraDome2 User Guide pdf. We're going to use a focal length of 30mm for a nice wide field of view, and we're going to set the yon value to 3000, to stop anything disappearing out the back of shot.

We've set our Document Window Size to 960x540. We find this size to give nice renders for TerraDome2 and landscape images.

Unlike most of our other TerraDome2 add on packs, this one is a bit different, in the same way that End of The Line was. It consists of three parts: Morphs, Props and Camera.

We'll start by loading the morphs, which is shown in image 1 below. As we can see, it loads 4 new morphs under Special:DeamArborum.

Image 1: Inject The Morphs

Now lets have a look at our props, which we can see in image 2 below. We can see there are 3 props in all, which are varying sizes of the Deam statue.

Deam-SMALL is the smallest and loads near Poser's zero. It's quite tall at about 5 metres high (approx 16 ft). This one will be best suited for smaller scenes and has no accompanying morphs.

Deam-MEDIUM is the mid sized one and opens about midway between zero and the edge of the AZone. This is 50 metres back from zero (approx 165ft). This one also loads at 5 metres up, which is where the two accompanying morphs are set to when at a strength of 1.000. This one is twice the size of Deam-SMALL, at 10 metres high.

Deam-LARGE is the biggest and furthest away, and it's 100 metres from zero (approx 330ft).  This one loads at 10 metres high, and is twice the size of Deam-MEDIUM. It also has two accompanying morphs. The statue is placed to stand on these morphs at a strength of 1.000.

The Large and Medium statues should only be used with the Large and Medium morphs respectively, always set at 1.000. The Large morphs may be adversely affected by applying any additional morphs. Though most AZone morphs will not affect the area where the Deam-LARGE statue loads. The Medium morphs will not be affected by any BZoneLg morphs, but may be affected by AZone morphs and FBM's.

Image2: Deam Arborum Props

To begin with, we'll load 'Deam-LARGE' and we can see where it opens in image3 below. We had to angle the camera up a bit to see even that much. It looks quite close, but it's actually about 100metres away (~330ft). It's no good to us there, hanging around up in the sky, so now we need to apply one of the morphs.

Image3: Deam-LARGE opening position

In image 4 below, we've applied the 'Deam-Large1' morph at 1.000. We've pulled the camera out quite a long way to give an idea of the morph and how the prop is on it. Because we haven't applied any materials, we can see that this is a FullBodyMorph, affecting both the AZone and BZoneLg. 'Deam-Large2' is the same, while the 'medium' morphs only affect the AZone, but still have a master control dial on Body.

So now we're going to add some materials, water, and render it all up to see what it looks like.

We've changed the camera angle, added a couple of monks to give an idea of proportion, slipped a bit of AtmosFear in there, and the final image is what we came out with. The water we left quite high to give the impression of a causeway.

Because everything's on such a big scale, we've included a few cameras for the medium and large statues, for a variety of scenes.

We hope you enjoy using this product and we look forward to seeing what images you make with it.

Happy Rendering
